NYC Food

Food in New York City is incredible.  The competition between restaurants is so fierce that the consumer gets spoiled with the most delicious food around every corner.  Here is a list of places where you must eat as many times as possible when in NYC (in no particular order):

1.  Yakitori Totto - unbelievable Japanese/Korean served in tapas style.  Try the kalbi, prawn, pork with scallion, lamb chop, and bacon wrapped asparagus.

2.  Ageha Sushi - Manhattan and Rock rolls are great.

3.  Perry St - can never go wrong with my favorite chef Jean-Georges.  My best meal of my entire life was here for my birthday.

4.  Gaonurri - amazing Korean food with a beautiful view of the Empire State Building.  try to get a window seat.  I recommend the jap chae and kalbi.

5. Bonchon - the best korean fried chicken in town.

6. Caracas - must have arepas.  the only problem is the wait.

7.  Num Pang - awesome Cambodian sandwiches.

8.  Boqueria - probably the best Spanish tapas you'll ever have.

9.  Kittichai - I can only speak for the brunch here which is phenomenal.  Bottomless blood orange mimosas and lychee belinis - so good.

10.  El Camion Cantina - speaking of brunch, I believe this is the best possible brunch food you can get.  The atmosphere is meh, and the seating is a little packed, but wow, the food here is top notch.

11.  Halal guys - gyro and chicken stand at the southeast corner of 53rd and 6th.  there is a huge difference in taste between their meat and other vendors.  Warning:  the hot sauce is insanely spicy I swear it's just habanero juice or something.

12.  Cha Pa's - the definition of really good hole in the wall restaurant.  This quaint little place seems to go unnoticed, but their vietnamese pho is out of this world.  They also play really good music.

13.  Shabu Tatsu - having lived in Southern California where shabu shabu is an everyday thing, we found this place to be our go-to spot for it.  If anyone knows of a better place, I would love to hear about it.

14.  Empellon Cocina - epic Mexican.

15.  Tea & Sympathy - endless variety of tea and tasty scones.

16.  Hangawi - Korean vegetarian.  You take off your shoes and sit on recessed benches.  The mixed rice stone bowls are great.

17.  Franchia - sister restaurant to Hangawi which is also bomb.

17.  Ovest - really unique and good pizza.

18.  Wild Edibles - fresh oysters mmmmm.

19.  ABC Kitchen - Jean-Georges food with a fun vibe!

20.  Nougatine - another Jean-Georges.  known for their fois gras brulee dessert.  Unfortunately I don't like fois gras, but everything else I have had there is perfect.

21.  Cancun - probably the best carne asada in NYC.

22.  Burrito Box - BBQ chicken burrito and the steak quesadilla are the best.

23.  Naya Express - unbelievable Lebanese food.  Huge lines during lunch time though.  Order seamless pickup, they will tell you ready in 10 minutes, but go pick it up in 30-40 min.
